Conveyance system closures are high quality safety devices, which are part of the building as well as a machine component in interaction with the conveyance system. Conveyance system closures must work reliably during conveyance operation and must fulfill their underlying fire protection tasks in case of a fire.
This results in a periodic monitoring for permanent function standby in case of a fire with a simultaneous requirement for the frequent maintenance of the machine component to guarantee a failure free conveyance operation. The legislator in Germany has established obligations for the inspection and maintenance as part of the general building-authority approval for conveyance system closures and close-off systems as well as in DIN 14677 “Maintenance of close-off systems” or the sample administration regulation Technical Construction Regulations (MV V TB).
